Well, today's ride wasn't much better than Monday's. I felt even more awkward going down the tight, twisty singletrack and even managed to fall over and hit my left shin on a root on one uphill corner. That sucked. The only positive I can think of is that I carried a ton more speed through the two sandy sections on the last section along Highland Drive which made a huge difference. Oh yeah, and I took Forrest's advice and rode to & from the course so I was training "green" this morning.
I'd be interested to know what the rest of you think of the course. For me it's going to be a difficult race.

These are desperate times in the natural snow department. I supposed it
could be worse. Alta has had 105" of snow so far this year and has a base
depth...

I guess I am going to have step it up and ride to the race on Monday, carry all my gear and pray I am not too wasted to get home! Going from Draper up to Wasatch Blvd after that race is going to hurt!
Hopefully I will be able to preride the course this weekend and figure out what gear I want to use on the single speed.
Man, if I was riding a single my gear would be 32x28!
Really, I was thinking I could crank a 34x19. Are the climbs harder than the Soldier Hollow race? I know they are most likely longer, but are they steeper?
Well, you need to keep in mind that you are much stronger than me! The climbs aren't all that steep but are a bit longer. What kicks my butt on this course are the narrow downs with tight corners. I'm sure you have solid bike skills and will wonder what I'm talking about.
