Bike Commute Day 3.5

I'm tired today and it's all because of this book. You see, my wife started reading it before me which means she has first priority for reading in the evening. Thus, I don't get a shot at it until she's ready for bed. So I've been staying up 1-2 hours later than I normally would reading. I was ok riding in this morning (it's hard to feel too bad since I treat my commutes as a means of logging some easy, endurance miles) but this afternoon I'm totally beat. So I'm catching a ride home with a friend and leaving the bike at the office. Weak I know but hey, at least I'm finally starting to listen to my body right?

Thanks to those who shared opinions on my Coaching post. I'm making good progress in my research though if any of you have additional thoughts please feel free to comment.

Been there. I finished it 2 weeks ago. I have a hard time stopping in the middle of a chapter and JK is annoyingly skilled with cliffhagers so I just HAVE to read the next chapter. I did better this book and didn't pull too many late-nighters. It was a good read, although I have a few nits to pick. Seems weird it's over. JK sure can write good, bold stories.

Just like Fox doesnt get singlespeeds, I dont get 29rs or Art doesnt get the techno thing, I also dont get the Harry Potter thing. And the worst part, one of my boys has a Harry Potter poster in his room and has read all the books. Someone save me!

To each their own. I resisted at first as Harry Potter swept my house (wife and kids), then one day I picked up the first book and was surprised how much I enjoyed reading it. JK is a skillful storyteller. I'm not really a fan, but I was definitely entertained. You'll know within the first few chapters if it's your cup of tea or not.

And for the record, I don't get any of the other things you mentioned. ;-) OK, I get 29ers (my wife has one) and I kinda get SS (though it seems like knee torture to me), and Techno just seems like audio hypnosis (I think even I could make a Techno song). But I'm sure glad there is variety in life - it would sure be boring if everyone liked the same stuff.

Kris - After a detailed analysis I have reached the conclusion that your best performances on the bike have come on days where I drove to the trailhead with the techno beats pumping. I'd be willing to listen to your mix if you ever decided to put one together.

You want one of my mixes? Now where's that Best of Barry Manilow CD? ;-)

I finally finished the book tonight. This is the latest I've been up since New Years... All I can say is, "Wow."
