Clark's Time Trial

Ever since I rode Jacob's Ladder with Brad and Kris a couple of weeks ago and heard about the official Clark's TT I've wanted to give it a go. Today after a solid 1 hour and 45 minute warm-up I hit it. I started the watch when I rolled onto the bridge and stopped at the last sign on top. So how did I do? Well, I'm not even close to Brad & Co. but nevertheless I was pleased with my effort. My time was 14:08 at an average heart rate of 185 bpm. Yeah, I was going full gas. And yes, it hurt. But no, I didn't puke. So yes, I suppose I could have gone harder.

It's official. You've started it. The 2008 Clark's TT competition has now begun. I need to search Ricks blog from last year to find the times but 14:08 is sounding pretty good.

puking has nothing to do with going hard, its when you start to taste blood that you know your givin it your all!

Looks like sub 11:00 is the goal but for me 14:08 would be a smokin' time. Well done Mark.

Andy just made me e-mail BP with a reminder of his claim for a sub 10 in 2 weeks.

I want in on this. How do I know which is Clark's Trail? I am a CC novice.

Adam - Tons of guys ride Corner Canyon on a near daily basis. Just post on your blog when you'd like to ride and somebody should be available to show you around.

The UMB.com site has a good description of Clark's with a map. However, what most of us refer to as the Equestrian Center Bruce calls the Lynn Ballard ball park. Clark's was the longer singletrack downhill after climbing the dirt road at the Draper ICUP race.

I just did it in about 16 minutes. I forgot to start the timer right at the start, so I'm guessing a little bit. Next time I'll start the timer.

That was on a Rocky Mountain Slayer, which isn't the fastest climber, but it does pretty well considering it is 33 lbs.

Clark's is such a freaking blast coming down!!! I like riding it mid-day because there's typically nobody there and the shade is plentiful.
