...I'd have to say that Forrest has it dialed in pretty good. Balance for all seasons and weather conditions. After more than 5 years away from the resorts I may need to strap on the skis and make peace with the white stuff this winter.
Any recommendations for the best ski school for young kids? I'd like to take my 7 year old up with me and want him to learn from somebody who knows what they're doing.

These are desperate times in the natural snow department. I supposed it
could be worse. Alta has had 105" of snow so far this year and has a base
depth...

My wife taught at snowbasin last seaons and I have a good friend that teaches there as well. It's where I learned when I was young and I continue to live there during the winter, but maybe a bit of a commute for some.
I do know they have a great program though.
Agree with KDay that Snowbasin is great for skiing with kids. Don't know about their lessons, though.
We put our twin boys through Alta's classes (starting at age 4 -- they're now 6) and the Alta folks were AWESOME. The instructors have lots of enthusiasm and it doesn't have that hoity-toity crap you see at some resorts. The kids loved it and they can now zoom around any mountain with us (not ready for black diamond runs yet, though).
If you want to ski regularly with kids (and not go broke), check out Utah Ski & Golf's kid rental program. Basically, you take one big hit for around $600-700 and then you can keep renting and changing out your equipment (boots, skis, bindings, poles) until they're about 11 or 12 with no additional costs. It is a sweet deal. I think some other shops have it too, but I don't know which ones.

Give me a shout if you want some help with finding affordable, but great instructors. I teach at DV but am a nationally certified Children's trainer...train instructors as well as teach children. Dv may not be your bag, but I probably can find a situation that is or point you to who to talk to about lessons.
Catherine McEnroe teaches kids @ Alta. She's an old friend of mine.
My kids snowboarded and Brighton was the ticket for the little ones at first, but not sure if that is the place for skiing. I think the knuckle draggers outnumber skiers 5 to 1.Glad to see you considering onverting to the dark side.
Everyone's feedback is much appreciated.
